Virginia Governor Ralph Northam announced on March 17th additional steps to help Virginians impacted by the COVID-19 virus and to stop the spread of the virus in the Commonwealth and protect public health. Governor Northam told Virginians to avoid non-essential gatherings and increase social distancing.
As much as we at Virginia Motorsports Park hate to make this announcement, we are forced to abide by the Governor’s announcement and cannot complete the two VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series points races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22, under the quantity number of personnel that would not abide by state and federal rulings. We are going to only cancel this upcoming weekend’s events at this time as things can and have changed overnight with the COVID-19 virus. Payso Productions’ Inaugural March NT Madness event is still on going for next weekend, March 28, as we will wait and see how the pandemic plays out within the next week. Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings scheduled for April 24-25 along with the Virginia NHRA Nationals on May 29-31 are both still on schedule and planning to move forward with at this time.
As of now, there is not a reschedule date for these two events as we move forward into the season along with working with other tracks in our area to keep schedules as clean as possible. The next two VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series events on schedule are Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19 and will also feature Southern Outlaw Top Sportsman racing both days along with our new Friday Night Lights series debuting on Friday, April 17, which will feature a pre-entry 16-car shootout for Super Pro, Pro and Jr. Dragsters along with open test and tune. We will have more information out on this debuted to the public very soon along with a link to pre-enter and reserve your spot in the new Friday Night Lights program.
