After careful deliberation and to remain compliant with Virginia’s continued stay at home order regarding COVID-19, the Xtreme Dragbike Association (XDA) and Virginia Motorsports Park have made the difficult decision to cancel the MTC Engineering Summer Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park on May 15-17th.
We know this news is very disappointing and all of us feel the same. By making the decision to cancel the event now, we hope that you are able to cancel or change your travel and work plans with minimal impact.
The May XDA event will not be rescheduled but the good news is that XDA still has four events remaining on schedule, including the XDA Bike Bash on August 21-23, right here at VMP.
“We are extremely grateful for all of our supporters during this unprecedented and challenging time,” stated XDA President Jason Miller. “We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate these new waters. With some states starting to relax their stay at home orders this month, we are more optimistic that we will finally be able to kick off the 2020 XDA season at Maryland International Raceway with the FuelTech Superbike Showdown on June 19-21.”
As of the writing of this press release, track rentals are still not permitted at Virginia Motorsports Park due to Virginia’s stay at home order. But if Virginia changes their policy to allow small track rentals on May 15-17 weekend, Virginia Motorsports Park will give XDA racers the first chance to secure a testing spot for that weekend. Details on prices and testing schedule will be released if/when track rentals are permitted in Virginia.
XDA will be updated as often as possible on XDARacing.com and on their social media outlets.
Make your plans for August 21-23 and get ready for the only all two-wheel weekend of the year at Virginia Motorsports Park when the XDA Bike Bash takes over!
