Kerley, Moody, Hilton, Banton Jr. and Sutphin Claim Wins at Inaugural Dirtplex Nationals, presented by: AED Performance

For the first time in 2020, Virginia Motorsports Park put the brakes on the championship drag strip and opened the gates to the Dirtplex. While our BMX track runs multiple times a week, there had not been any action on the rest of the Dirtplex portion of the facility this season. After weeks of construction by Perkinson Construction and the Virginia Motorsports Park staff, the arena was widened by 50 feet and guardrail was re-installed to provide safety barriers to keep the racing between the walls.

After a long week of work from a ton of volunteers, two mud bog pits were dug and prepared in between countless rain showers and storms. As the gates opened on Saturday, the trucks began to pile in, pass technical inspections and get ready to roll through the pits as quickly as they could. After over 130 runs through the pits, the day was completed, 5 champions were crowned and the fans began to pack up after three pop-up rain showers and a long day of dodging rain drops and mud clots flying through the air.

When the dust settled, there were a number of huge runs, big jumps and one spectacular rollover crash during freestyle to close the inaugural Dirtplex Nationals, presented by: AED Performance in style! Listed below are our top five results from every class and top ten from both Super Stock categories that were jam packed with trucks. We at Virginia Motorsports Park want to thank all of the racers and teams who came out to support our first event of the season at the Dirtplex along with all of the fans who came out and abided by the social distancing guidelines throughout the entire day.
