PDRA Pro Line Racing Brian Olson Memorial World Finals, presented by: ProCharger

October 19, 2023 - October 22, 2023

The final major event of the 2023 season at Virginia Motorsports Park is scheduled for October 19-22 when the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) rolls into town with the Pro Line Racing Brian Olson Memorial World Finals, presented by: ProCharger. The PDRA series brings the world’s quickest and fastest eighth mile doorslammers to one place with two classes of Pro Modified racing, Pro Nitrous and Pro Boost. Extreme Pro Stock brings 800+ cubic inches of naturally aspirated, gear jamming horsepower to the eighth mile while Pro Street puts thousands of horsepower on a tire that measures 10.5-inches-wide. More exciting classes like Super Street, Pro 632, Pro Nitrous Motorcycle, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster and more are also coming to the fan favorite event in October. This is the final race on the PDRA series for 2023 and world championships will be decided at this event!

Pro Nitrous brings the quickest and fastest nitrous oxide assisted Pro Mods to the forefront of the PDRA. Jim Halsey is your four-time returning and defending world champion in category, looking to be the first in series history to claim five consecutive world championships. North Carolina’s Chris Rini took home the class victory at the first PDRA event in 2022 over the Virginia based Ford Mustang of Dane Wood. 900+ cubic inch engines are stuffed between the frame rails of these cars, with most running six stages of nitrous oxide. These cars are often seen running 3.6x second elapsed times at over 200 miles per hour. Pro Nitrous will lead off the class line-up during Friday Night Fire and on Saturday’s Main Event.

Pro Boost provides the thunderous engines that you can feel in your chest from the moment they start to the finish line stripe. These supercharged and turbocharged cars heavily rely on the HEMI engine platform for their horsepower and are often found running deep into the 3.60 range, even dipping into the 3.50s when conditions allow. “King Tut” Todd Tutterow comes into the 2023 season as the reigning class champion for the second time in his PDRA career. Buffalo, New York’s Melanie Salemi ran the table in 2022 being the #1 qualifier and event winner in the first PDRA event of the season. Pro Boost sits alongside Pro Nitrous at the front of the PDRA series, continuing to raise the bar in Pro Modified drag racing yet again.

Pro Street brings a ton of attitude and a small tire flare to the PDRA series with all entries sitting on 10.5-inch slick tires. Nitrous oxide, supercharged and turbocharged combinations all piled into one exciting category that is continuing to grow in popularity and in competition level, year after year. Tim Essick comes into 2023 as the two-time PDRA Pro Street world champion with his “Brown Sugar” Ford Mustang. New Jersey’s Ty Kasper took home the win in summer of 2022 with his turbocharged Ford, nicknamed Sinatra. The Pro Street cars may be some of the most factory appearing cars in the PDRA, but they are packing a huge punch, often seen running in the 3-second range at nearly 200 miles per hour.

Extreme Pro Stock is another headline category in the PDRA series that brings some of the closest side-by-side racing to the events. 800+ cubic inches of naturally aspirated horsepower is what all of these entries rely on, also, with a clutch pedal and a manually shifted, gear jammin’ transmission to make this class one of the toughest to drive and tune for. The sound of Extreme Pro Stock alone is worth the price of admission, just something about a big cubic inch engine, singing at high RPMs going down the track in 4-seconds flat at over 170 miles per hour. Johnny Pluchino comes into the season as the defending class champion while Tony Gillig took home the Virginia 660 Man in summer of the last season in his Dayco-sponsored GXP.

You will also see classes like Pro Nitrous Motorcycle, Pro 632 and the Super Street category, making their season debut with the PDRA. Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will pack the house with huge car counts along with Pro and Top Jr. Dragster and the Bracket Bash category for the local stars to chase a PDRA national event win.

Event Schedule, Ticket Pricing and more will be announced very soon by the PDRA officials.
