2020 Schedule Update | ET Racing Returns June 6th!

As most of you have seen, the Governor of Virginia has allowed for racetracks to begin opening for racing events, effective 12:00am on Friday, May 29. The guidelines for all business sectors and the sector-specific guidelines for racetracks are referenced on the Governor’s website along with some of the points that you will see below in this article.

Our schedule remains the same for this upcoming weekend with nothing on the drag strip and an autocross rental in the parking lot. As previously mentioned, we have a professional test session ongoing next week from June 3-5th. On Saturday, June 6th, we return to a competition level of racing at Virginia Motorsports Park with a special VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Shootout event with no points contested and a special purse to kick-off the greatness that is drag racing returning to the state of Virginia. We will have Hoosier Racing Tire Super Pro, Pro and Battery Barn Jr. Dragsters. For Super Pro and Pro, we will have $3,000 to Win, $500 to Runner-Up, $200 to Semi-Finalists and $50 Round Money starting with 3rd Round win – $75 Entry Fee and $50 BuyBack (one round). For Jr. Dragsters, we will have $400 to Win, $150 to Runner-Up, $20 Round Money starting with 3rd Round win – $40 Entry Fee and $15 BuyBack (one round). We will have an over-night entry gate starting at 10:00pm on Friday night and will be open throughout the night and all morning. We will have one time trial that will begin at 9:30am with Pro, followed by Super Pro, then Jr. Dragsters. Following the one time run, we will go into eliminations and hustle through until we crown champions on Saturday evening. We do highly recommend continuing the ‘touchless’ operations by pre-purchasing your tech cards online by CLICKING HERE. On Sunday, June 7th, we have the USDrift team on property doing their thing in the parking lot.

As for the complete event schedule, we have made a number of changes including Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings moving from June 19-20 and the new date of September 4-5. We are also moving Monster Truck Throwdown later in the year to September 25-27 to run alongside the Dinwiddie County Fair. Brown’s Racing Labor Day Grudge event is now going to be held on Saturday, August 29th as a pre-Labor Day event while the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series moves to October 1-4 and the MAC Team Finals rolls back a week to October 9-11.
