VP Fuels ET Series Postponed to March 27-28, Test & Tune on Sunday, March 21st!

Virginia Motorsports Park officials have made the decision to postpone the season-opening VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series events scheduled for this weekend, March 20-21, to next weekend, March 27-28, 2021 due to the weather conditions this weekend.

As viewing the hour-by-hour forecast, we are looking at a slow warm-up on Saturday to not reach the 54 degree high temperature until 4pm and a quick drop back below 50 degrees by 7pm. Sunday provides conditions that are favorable for a noon start time but temperatures begin trailing off around 8pm. We’ve made the decision to postpone the VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series events being that we do not feel Saturday puts us in safe conditions to race and with Sunday’s late start time, we feel that we could run into a situation where completing the event is not favorable for anyone involved.

We will continue to host the NHRA Chassis Certifications on Saturday, March 20th if you called and scheduled an appointment through the office!

The new plan for this weekend and the reminder of the month of March is as follows with Sunday, March 21st featuring a regular Test & Tune with a gambler’s race for big cars and a gambler’s race for junior dragsters. The gambler’s race will be a combination of Super Pro & Pro cars with a $50 entry and the junior dragster gambler’s race will be a $30 entry – both gamblers races will be 100% payback with one round of buybacks ($30 buyback for big cars, $10 buyback for juniors). If you catch an early exit in the gamblers race, you can continue to run in the test and tune sessions. There will be slicks/radials testing available for $30, street car testing available for $20 and junior dragster testing available for $20. If you choose to have no time shown, it is an additional $10 purchase. Gates will open at 8am on Sunday morning with technical inspections opening at 9:30am and test and tune starting at 12pm with our same run order as this past weekend (Slicks – Radials – Motorcycles – Jr. Dragsters – Street Cars) with gamblers race time trial starting soon after one session of TNT, followed by eliminations and Test & Tune run order being mixed in throughout the afternoon and early evening.

VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series will now be contested on Saturday & Sunday, March 27-28 with the same program as originally scheduled. We are going to open the gate for early parking on Friday, March 26th from 5pm to 9pm, as well for the ones who want to come in, camp out and be prepared for the Saturday start. Express Tech & Gold Club Parking will be available for purchase in Suite 101, starting on Saturday morning at 8am until 2pm as well, for all who want to sign-up for both programs. Our VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series debuts next weekend with the payouts and event schedule below!

We hate to have to make the change but thankful that we can still contest a little bit of racing this weekend along with getting the season started next weekend for our ET points series!
