Williams, Jones, Burkhead, Suppers & Reggio Claim Victories on Saturday Edition of VP Fuels ET Bracket Series

The first of two VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series events completed on Saturday evening with a full house of over 300 entries in the bracket event along with a near 16-car field in Maryland Performance Center Real Street, presented by: Callies Performance Products. We had a wonderful crowd for the day and were honored to be apart of the celebration of life for Melissa Sillmon that was held before the opening round of eliminations.

Hoosier Racing Tire Super Pro once again carried the largest car count of the day with over 135 entries on the day, paying the elevated $3,000 to Win pay day once again. Troy Williams from Warrenton, VA battled through the field in his Nesbitt powered dragster to sit in the finals beside Davis Adkins’ dragster. Williams ripped the tree .002 and rolled to victory in a double breakout race with Adkins. Randy Smith and Brandon Hackworth were the semi-finalists while Bruce Sisk, Darrell Holmes, Greg Haynes and Brianna Lukhard rounded out the quarter-finals in Super Pro.

Pro ET also carried a heavy car count and paid the elevated $2,000 to Win payout for the bottom bulbers in attendance on Saturday. Ben Jones from Henrico, VA wheeled his Chevrolet Nova all the way to the winners circle for the first time on Saturday evening. Jones claimed victory over Chris Moren as he clicked on the red-light by .007 of a second in the final round. Russell Cannon was the lone semi-finalist of the day while Josh Bess, Cody Kirk and Patrick Cassidy rounded out their evenings in the quarter-finals.

Pro Bike continued with the familiar faces that we see at the majority of the VP Fuels ET Bracket Series events. Derek Burkhead, Jr. outlasted the group to stand tall in the winner’s circle at the end of the evening. Derek defeated Ben Burkhead in the final round. Doug Rutherford and Derek Burkhead, Sr. were the semi-finalists and Craig Marable, Roy Johnson and Clay Davies were the quarter-finalists.

Battery Barn Jr. Dragsters had nearly 50 entries for the first of two NHRA JDRL Wally races this weekend. Anthony Suppers from Manassas, VA stood tall in the winner’s circle at the end of the evening after defeating Zach Shirkey. Brooks McMath was the lone semi-finalist and Evan Cox, Chloe Geryes and Ashton Sheppard were the quarter-finalists.

Maryland Performance Center Real Street joined in our VP Racing Fuels ET Bracket Series event with 13 heads-up entries qualifying for the field with JC Beattie, Jr.’s ATI Performance sponsored Chevrolet Camaro leading the way with a 4.890 at 144.98 miles per hour. As eliminations began, Beattie went down to a holeshot defeat and #2 qualifier Justin Reggio continued to move through the field with consistent laps down the racing surface. In the finals, Reggio faced off with #11 qualifier Terry Holler who made big progress through the day with a new combination. Reggio ran a new class elapsed time record in the finals with a 4.846 to take the win and a previous 4.849 was eligible for the back-up of the new record while Holler made his best run of the weekend with a 5.028.
