Skelly, Dudley, Biddle and Burdette Claim No Button Nationals Victories

The second annual No Button Nationals was held this past weekend, April 8-10, at Virginia Motorsports Park with twin $5,000 to Win main events along with a Super 64 Shootout and a gambler’s race on Saturday night after the first 5-grander of the weekend.

Randy Biddle, Jr. began the weekend with a victory in the Super 64 shootout in his ’84 Malibu, taking the win over a red-lighting Chad Burch in the finals. RBJ outlasted some of the toughest bottom bulbers on the East Coast with yet another win on the short season. Andrew Ellis and Keith Burch ended their evenings in the semi-finals while William Stotler, Brandon Michaels, Dave Dissinger and Roger Bridges started their weekend with a quarter-final finish.


Friday’s Super64 Winner – Randy Biddle, Jr.


Brandon Skelly brought his ’86 Camaro all the way to VMP from Mount Wolf, Pennsylvania and rolled straight to the winner’s circle on Saturday, claiming the first 5-grander of the weekend over local runner Travis Leake. Skelly took a reaction time advantage and never looked back, claiming a big win for the Pennsylvania runner. Chris Moren and Dan Fletcher were the semi-finalists while Dave Dissinger, Kevin Yates, Nathan Sexton and Andrew Ellis were the quarterfinalists in the first main event of the weekend.


Saturday’s Main Event Winner – Brandon Skelly


Ryan Burdette parked his Chevy II Nova on the dance floor during Saturday night’s gamblers shootout, taking down a redlighting Chris Giles in the final round. Martin Flegal was the lone semi-finalist while Jonathan Martin, Mike Bryson and Jeff Longhany bowed out during the quarterfinals.


Saturday’s Gambler’s Race Winner – Ryan Burdette


‘Deadly’ Devin Dudley waited until the final 5-grand main event on Sunday afternoon to park his Charlottesville, Virginia based Ford Mustang in the winner’s circle, taking down none other than RBJ, Randy Biddle, Jr. in the finals. Dudley left no doubt in the finals, laying down .005 total (.004 RT, 6.561 on the 6.56 dial) against RBJ’s .017 total package (.017 RT, 5.910 on the 5.91 dial). Young gun Dylan Witherow was the lone semi-finalist in his Vega while Evan Poust in both entries and Scott Halsey bowed out in the quarters.
