May 17-24 Update from Virginia Motorsports Park

We are currently sitting under rainy skies and conditions for another day here at Virginia Motorsports Park due to all of the storms and rainfall already here and more coming our way.

Our plan for this weekend is as follows – nothing will be planned for Friday, May 22 due to weather. Saturday, May 23rd – we will have another Private COVID Test Session along with a 16-car COVID Bracket Practice Elimination event. Our plan would be to open at 2pm, on track at 4pm and run until our hard stop curfew of 11pm. After a successful opening weekend, we have been granted with a few more entries into the process and have up to 40 teams on the property for a test session and a limit of 9 crew members per team. With everyone in attendance last week doing such a great job of following the rules, we’ve been given a little more to do more things, which is great in the big picture. During the test and tune portion of the test, we will have radial prep available.

By being able to do this, we are able to lower the price now to $125.00 per tech card for car and driver only and each crew member is $15, again, limited to 9 crew per entry. If you’re interested in getting into this Saturday’s program – we ask you to sign up below. Due to weather concerns, you are NOT paying for this sign-up now. If something happens and we cannot race, nobody is out any money and refunds are not needed. If the weather breaks and we are able to proceed forward, we will contact the list directly to pay for their entry before arriving to the facility (COVID touchless processes). By doing this ahead of time, we have a program ready to roll if the weather allows us to go racing this weekend.

If Saturday is not an option due to weather, we will look at doing this exact program on Sunday, May 24th, opening at 10am, starting at 12pm and running until 7pm.

In regards to the overall schedule that was posted earlier this year, we are making a ton of changes to this and will be making announcements soon regarding the schedule as we know it and so you can begin making your plans for a busy late summer and all through the fall months here at Virginia Motorsports Park. Stay tuned for that coming out within the next week, as soon as we hear from all of our facility lease partners.
